When the Dream Fits
We were sitting together watching Canada win.
My son, my daughter, and me.
As the crowd erupted around us, I found myself remembering a conversation from years ago.
My son was 15.
His coaches wanted him to leave Canada and head to England to pursue soccer. It was an incredible opportunity, but he looked at me and said:
“Mom, my greatest goal would be to play for Canada and make the National Team.”
Years later, he did exactly that.
Sitting there this week, I realized something.
The real story isn’t soccer.
It’s people.
It’s having the courage to pursue a dream that feels deeply your own.
It’s having people around you who help you believe it’s possible.
Looking at my kids now, I see three very different paths.
One found his way through sport and coaching.
One through leadership, creativity, and helping people grow.
Mine has been through entrepreneurship, strategy, and conversations that help people navigate what’s next.
Different paths.
Similar purpose.
Helping people untangle complexity.
See possibilities.
Build confidence.
Move forward.
Maybe that’s why this moment felt so meaningful.
Not because Canada won.
But because I was sitting beside two people who have become exactly who they were meant to become.
And honestly?
That feels like a win too.
