Why I Love Airports (And What They Teach Us About Alignment)

Most people see airports as a necessary hassle — lines, luggage, delays, the sprint to the gate.
But me? I love airports.

Every time I step into one, something wakes up in me.
Airports scream adventure.
New connections.
New people.
New stories.

They’re the in-between spaces where life loosens its grip on routine. Where anything feels possible. Where you can sit with a coffee and watch thousands of tiny life paths crossing — strangers on their way to reunions, reinventions, bold moves, quiet returns, and everything in between.

And that’s why airports feel like alignment to me.

Alignment isn’t the “smooth sailing” we’re taught to chase. It’s not about getting to your destination in the cheapest, fastest, straightest line.

Alignment is about choosing the experience you actually want to live.
Even in the in-between.
Especially in the in-between.

Sometimes the most strategic living happens in those pauses — the airport lounges, the layovers, the moments when you’re between what was and what’s next.

Because the in-between clarifies things:

  • Who you are when you’re not rushing
  • What matters when all the noise drops away
  • What kind of life you want to design next

In airports, I’m reminded that strategic living isn’t a straight line. It’s a series of intentional choices — small ones, big ones, brave ones — that shape a life with more meaning and less friction.

Airports are my reset button.
They remind me to live light, travel light, think light, and choose alignment over speed.

And maybe that’s the real adventure:
Not just where you’re going —
but who you’re becoming on the way there.
