The best strategy I ever built wasn’t for a business—it was for a life.
It didn’t happen in a boardroom. It happened in the way I chose to live—what I modeled, not just what I said.

We snapped this photo at a Whitecaps game—me and my daughter, grinning wide.

Not just because it was a good night (it was). But because there’s something full-circle about moments like this…

She’s a coach now.
And so is her brother.
And her husband.
And… well, you could say coaching runs in the family.

We didn’t plan it that way.
But we did live it.

What I did try to teach my kids was this:

Do what you love.
Lean into who you really are.
And build a life—work, relationships, rhythms—that fits.

That’s strategy. Not just in business. Not just in boardrooms. But in how you live.

The result?
A family of humans who lead with heart, coach with clarity, and show up in their own ways to lift others.
Some through sport. Some through psychology. Some through business mentoring.
And some—like my daughter-in-law—through the quiet kind of care that changes lives behind the scenes.

I don’t tell their full stories here—those are theirs to tell.
But what I will say is this:

👉 When you live aligned, it creates a ripple.
👉 When you choose strategy over pressure, clarity over chaos, the people around you feel it.
👉 And when you teach your kids to think for themselves, they just might grow into the kind of leaders the world actually needs.

So yeah, this photo means a lot to me.
Not because it’s polished or posed.
But because it captures what I believe:

Strategic living isn’t a business skill. It’s a life skill.
And it starts early.
