Deborah is a dynamic speaker and facilitator – known for her energy and story-telling. She engages her audience with though-provoking concepts and ideas, challenging them to consider new ways of thinking. Her programming is always hands-on so that the learner is fully engaged and information is directly appliacble to their industry.

“All of the work I do as a Business Development Facilitator is interactive – my roll is to guide the learner throuogh a creative process of applying the knowlege to their everyday life as an entrepreneur.” Deborah explains.

Over the past decade Deborah Richardson has designed training courses for small business owners that are self-paced, one to one and customized for optimum results. Government backed programs such as the Chamber Learning Network, BC Job Grant, CTG and Langara College Continuing Education have supported her programming with grants for small business owners. Deborah also collaborates with Forum for Women Entrepreneurs, Futurpreneur and Women’s Enterprise Center.

STRATEGIC THINKING - STRATEGIC PLANNING

More than ever before we have to adapt to a changing world. Knowing what moves to take, what changes to make and how to keep focused is critical. 

Strategic Thinking and Strategic Planning skills are the backbone of continual business success. Learning how to create quarterly strategy plans are crucial in today’s business environment.

We will cover the basic elements of strategic thinking, strategy canvas and various ways of creating a strategic plan. Participants will learn critical thinking skills, principles of a strategic plan, how to access risk and implement change and the importance of engaging your team in the strategy.

A business plan is a business owner’s road map to success. It is an essential planning tool that is used as a compass throughout a business’s life-cycle. Knowing how to use your business plan is key to planning growth and pivoting when needed.

We review several business plan models (traditional business plan for banking purposes, business plan canvas, pitch deck and the 3 page business plan) so the entrepreneur can choose which style is most appropriate for their management style. 

Participants will learn owhow to use their business plan as a tool for growth and strategy design. wothe process of writing a well-defined business plan that will cover the steps needed for sustainable growth and ensure that goals and objectives are realistic and attainable.  The process can reveal potential challenges and address risk managment, marketvng strategies and overlooked new markets and revenue generation. This course is specific to a business reinvention.

MARKETING STRATEGY FOR INDEPENDANT CONTRACTORS

This program is designed for contractors, consultants and coaches who want to learn how to market their workshops, seminars and consulting services. 

Participants will explore the key elements of a marketing plan, sales strategy and online presence.  Skills include a basic understanding of various social media platforms, passive and active marketing activities and how to create a marketing campaign. They will learn how to identify key ideal clients and how to market to that  specific to demographic.
